Who We Are

Great Lakes Building Trades is the collective voice of seventeen trade/construction labor unions and their signatory contractors and suppliers serving Erie, Crawford and Warren counties. This partnership was created to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our communications, and to make it easier for architects, developers, engineers and planners to access our people and our value.

Recent surges in the construction industry across the commonwealth are also taking place in our region. Significant projects such as the renovations of the Erie Federal Court House and Jerry Uht Park, as well as the construction of Presque Isle Downs.

and the Erie Convention Center, serve as fine examples of the impact that GLBT has in creating facilities of vital civic and economic importance.

But GLBT isn't simply a union partnership. It's also a partnership with regional planners and builders to help make their visions a reality. We salute these individuals and organizations, and welcome the opportunity to contribute to our communities through the skill and commitment of our dedicated workforce.
